OUR ISSUES.
OUR FIGHT.

Education Equity

Year-Round Access to 3K and 4K Programs

I will fight to provide year-round 3K and 4K programs, ensuring families have access to high-quality, early education and free childcare support.

Universal Community Schools

I will fight to transform every school into a community school to become a hub for mental and medical care, enrichment and after-school programs, adult education, and tailored support that uplifts every community member in the Bronx.

Reinstate PT, OT, Speech, ELL and other Related Services in Schools

I will restore in-school access to critical services like physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, English Language Learning services, and other supports, ensuring every child receives the care they need without barriers.

Food Access

City-Run Wholesale and Community Distribution Center

I will fight for a city-run wholesale center that supplies affordable food to community supermarkets and co-ops. By reducing costs for local stores, we can ensure families have access to fresh, nutritious groceries at prices they can afford.

Dinner and Weekend Meals for Everyone

I will push for the expansion of school meal programs, including supper services and weekend meals. Every child deserves to go to bed with food in their stomach, and families in need should have access to reliable food support year-round, especially families who are low income and living in temporary housing.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

I will work with Bronx-based companies like FreshDirect, Golden Krust, Morton Williams, and others to establish CSR programs that reduce food insecurity. These programs will include organizing food drives, sponsoring meal programs, and investing in local initiatives while creating jobs that support our local economy.

Housing Justice

Expansion of Housing Connect Program

I will fight to expand the Housing Connect program by increasing available units while ensuring the selection, application, and requirements meet the need of the neighborhood.

Eliminate Credit Checks for Renters

I will fight to eliminate credit checks in applications, as they disproportionately exclude low-income residents. Housing is a human right, and everyone deserves access to housing.

Restorative Mediation for Rent Arrears

I will Introduce mediation for rent owed under $15,000, creating a space for landlords and tenants to negotiate solutions without jumping to court and potential evictions.

Incarceration Reform

Establish a Bronx Reentry Office

I will establish a Bronx Reentry Support Office to provide one-on-one reentry planning, legal assistance, mental health counseling, addiction navigation, vocational training, and connections to services that support housing, job placement, and community health.

End Slave Wages for Incarcerated Individuals

I will fight to end the practice of slave wages by demanding fair wages for incarcerated workers. This will reduce the financial burden on families who often bear the costs of supporting an incarcerated loved one.

Eliminate Technical Violations as Grounds for Re-incarceration

I will demand legislation to eliminate technical violations as grounds for imprisonment.
Minor infractions like missing curfews or failing to report to an officer shouldn’t lead to re-incarceration.

Small Business Development

Local Business Emergency Relief Fund

I will create a city-backed emergency fund to support small businesses during crises like natural disasters, economic downturns, or public health emergencies. This fund will ensure businesses can weather challenges and maintain stability.

Small Business Growth Fund

I will push for rent subsidies and personnel grants for new and expanding small businesses in their first three years. This program will help local businesses build a strong foundation and create jobs right here in the Bronx.

Minority-Owned Business Incubators

I will establish minority-owned business incubators that provide mentorship, affordable workspace, and access to funding, reducing opportunity gaps for people of color in entrepreneurship and creating equitable opportunities for economic growth in the Bronx.

Mental & Physical Health

Universal Healthcare

I’ll fight for a citywide public health coverage model that ensures every New Yorker can access preventative care, doctor visits, prescriptions, and urgent care without cost barriers. This includes fighting for undocumented and low-income residents who are often left out of the system.

Insurance Covered Therapy

I will push legislation requiring both public and private health insurance providers to cover mental health services, including therapy, group counseling, and trauma care, at no or low cost.

Alcohol & Drug Treatment Services

I’ll push for more community-based, non-carceral rehab and drug treatment centers in District 16 that are run by people who understand addiction as a health issue, not a crime.

Immigration & ICE Protection

Expand Legal Defense & Support for Immigrants

I’ll fight to fully fund legal defense programs for immigrants facing deportation, including increased access to lawyers, housing support, and trauma counseling, especially for families and youth caught in raids or court backlogs.

Protect Undocumented Families in City Services

I will work to remove barriers to healthcare, housing, education, and employment for undocumented residents. This includes expanding language access, banning data sharing with ICE, and pushing for true sanctuary policies in schools, clinics, and shelters.

End NYC Cooperation with ICE

I will push for stronger sanctuary city protections and legislation that permanently prohibits NYPD and city agencies from coordinating with ICE. Our city systems should never be used to funnel people into federal detention.

Mental Health and Crisis Support

Expand Crisis Response Teams

I’ll fight to expand non-police crisis response teams for mental health, substance use, and housing emergencies.

Fund 24/7 Mental Health Centers

I’ll increase funding for 24/7 walk-in mental health centers in every neighborhood.

Invest in Long-Term Recovery Services

I’ll invest in long-term care, stabilization, and recovery services for people living through ongoing crises.

Public & Animal Safety

Create an Office of Humane Standards

I will push Albany to create an Office of Humane Standards to audit city-run animal shelters, food programs, and public facilities.

Improve Shelter Conditions

I will ensure animal shelters meet humane standards with proper staffing, medical care, and sanitation.

Hold Vendors Accountable

I will hold city contractors and vendors accountable to humane, ethical, and health-focused standards.
