Under New York State law, individuals may contribute up to $6,000 per election to a candidate for New York State Assembly ($6,000 for the primary and $6,000 for the general election). Contributions from corporations are prohibited. State law also prohibits making a contribution in the name of another person, reimbursing someone for a contribution made in your name, being reimbursed for a contribution made in your name, or falsely reporting a contribution as a loan.
